Cetrorelix Acetate is used for:
Delaying luteinizing hormone surges and ovulation in women undergoing fertility treatment.
Cetrorelix Acetate is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist. It works by preventing ovulation from happening before an egg is mature.
Do NOT use Cetrorelix Acetate if:
- you are allergic to any ingredient in Cetrorelix Acetate, to certain hormones (extrinsic peptide hormones, GnRH, GnRH analogs), or to mannitol
- you are pregnant, suspect that you may be pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- you have severe kidney problems

Before using Cetrorelix Acetate:
Some medical conditions may interact with Cetrorelix Acetate. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
- if you have kidney problems

How to use Cetrorelix Acetate:
Use Cetrorelix Acetate as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- An extra patient leaflet is available with Cetrorelix Acetate. Talk to your pharmacist if you have questions about this information.
- Cetrorelix Acetate is usually given as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic. If you will be using Cetrorelix Acetate at home, a health care provider will teach you how to use it. Be sure you understand how to use Cetrorelix Acetate. Follow the procedures you are taught when you use a dose. Contact your health care provider if you have any questions.
- Do not use Cetrorelix Acetate if it contains particles, is cloudy or discolored, or if the vial is cracked or damaged.
- Keep this product, as well as syringes and needles, out of the reach of children and pets. Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials. Ask your health care provider how to dispose of these materials after use. Follow all local rules for disposal.
- If you miss a dose of Cetrorelix Acetate, contact your doctor right away.

Important safety information:
- Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) is a possibly life-threatening side effect that may be caused by the use of Cetrorelix Acetate. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience stomach pain, bloating, or swelling; nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea; decreased urination or dark urine; shortness of breath; or sudden weight gain.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: Do not use Cetrorelix Acetate if you are pregnant. Avoid becoming pregnant while you are taking it. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor right away. It is not known if Cetrorelix Acetate is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Cetrorelix Acetate.
Possible side effects of Cetrorelix Acetate:
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Mild pain, swelling, redness, bruising, or itching at the injection site.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); dark urine; decreased urination; diarrhea; dizziness; nausea; shortness of breath; stomach pain, bloating, or swelling; sudden weight gain; unusual cough; vomiting.
